Block Party will be November 19th, at Harris Park - the neighborhood has met together
C4C needs to understand what is needed – Shawn has been in contact with some people working on this but clarity has not been given at this time

There are different planners and so some of it is behind schedule. They haven’t given Gloria the list of participants yet. Gloria will let us know what needs to be done.
Courageous Conversations on Race conference
Shawn Mitchell and Michael Franklin will be participating in the Courageous Conversations on Race conference in Washington DC where Michael Franklin will be presenting this next week

For Our City Day
Sat, Oct 22 at 7:00 am – noon with a part in
Need Volunteers – We have 2 projects (#3 and #39) – we need volunteers – information needed are name, email, and T-shirt size
Race4Unity
Held on Sat, Dec 10 that Desert Breeze Park at 9:00 am. It is being held on this day because it is UN Human Rights Day.
The website should have the participant registration and vendor booth application live by the end of the week – hopefully.
Need everyone to spread the word in your other organizations to have a booth at the event
Need to have the DJ and Food Trucks determined by the end of October.
Need to consider what kind of entertainment would be available and all that entails – cost, production, diversity inclusion, logistics, etc.
Need someone willing to help move the logistics forward during October.
Communicate to your other organizations to encourage them to have a booth and to participate in the event.
Include a Race 4 Unity Pledge to help people feel more engaged. Gloria has some ideas on this and we would like to incorporate this into the race and/or registration
Martin Luther King Jr Day
CMOA Assistance at the Congregational Church – people to support this event – Sun, Jan 15th – see what is needed for support – starting at 5 or 6 pm
May want to consider support other cities Martin Luther King Jr events
Multicultural Festival Participation – Sat, Jan 14th - Have a booth at the event
New Business
Harris Park Playground selection
There is going to be some progress on the playground – need to understand how this might coincide with the South Village Historic Conservation District celebration and what might be required.

Healing Racism - Healing from Hate Symposium – Sat, Sept Mesa Community College – Events page on Facebook Healing Racism It goes from 8:00 am – 2:45 with breakfast and lunch provided
Experience Interfaith at Arizona Heritage Center in Tempe on Thursday, October 27th at 5:30. This event is free and open to the public but requires a RSVP.
A Faith Fair where you can walk from table to table and explore other faith traditions
Discussions within small groups learning about the beliefs of different faiths
Experience Langher a traditional Sikh meal
DECISION: Donate $100 to Shaundrea’s Campaign going to Galveston, TX for the National Miss Juneteenth from Chandler4Change
Anyone can invite adults or students to the meetings
